The Hart Squash teams have enjoyed more success in the Summer Leagues, as the Club continues to move forward following the pandemic.
Hart 1
The first half of the season was extraordinary with 5 matches played and not just 5 wins, but 5 wins without any of the players losing a match. Maidenhead then withdrew, so there were only 4 return fixtures, of which we won 3 and only lost 3~2 to Bounty, Basingstoke in a very tight match that could have gone either way.
So the Division 1 table shows Hart 1 proudly standing at the top with 167 points, ahead of Bounty in 2nd, with 130 points.
Next Summer, we will be competing with the 'big' teams in the Premier Division.
Hart 2
2022 was the first year since 2016 that we have entered 2 teams in the Summer, and the team was placed in Division 5, probably a little low, but no complaints!
As for the first team, the seconds had a fantastic start, winning all 4 matches in the first half of the season, dropping only one match out of the 20 played.
The second half began with defeat to a Caversham side, but convincing victories in the last 3 matches ensured that there was never a doubt that they would win the Division, ultimately with a 13 point gap over their Caversham rivals.
Division 4 awaits next Summer!
