2006 – 2007 End of Season Awards

Our inaugural awards night was an informal and most enjoyable affair that had been the brainchild of Tom May and created a great opportunity to celebrate the success’s over the previous 7 months.
2006/7 was a great season for Hart Squash. The First team were safely in mid table, the Seconds easily got promotion & only just missed out on the title, the Thirds also (comfortably in the end) won promotion.
The players themselves voted for the winners of the awards, and the nominations and winners were as follows:

The most improved player during the season:

Nominees:
Chris Andrews – he grew in confidence with each match that he played
Tim Kirk – His wins became more decisive as he was determined to improve his all round game.
James Woodhall – He worked his way up the order of merit as his form got better and better

Congratulations to the winner – James Woodhall

The Most Memorable Match of the season:

Nominations:
Rob Barker – who was 2-0 down and 8-0 down away to Herongate. Then coming back to win 3-2...
Tom May – against the Over-70's World Champion. It was not a great game, but Tom maintained his concentration and game plan, did not let the veteran get to him and beat him without difficulty.
Iain MacArthur – for his win against the top team, Bisham Abbey. It was 2-2 in matches and he was 2 0 down. He managed to fight back and win 3-2.
Pete Webb – for his superb effort against top team, Aldermaston. Pete managed to keep his head in a tension filled and fraught match and still win.

Congratulations to the winner – Iain MacArthur

The “Players’ Player” nominees:
