Hart Squash has competed in the Berkshire Squash Rackets Association (“Berks”) inter-club leagues since 1993. There are separate competitions in the Winter and Summer.
Our teams have enjoyed mixed fortunes in recent years. The 2013/14 Winter season was our most successful ever with promotions for our first and second teams to the top 2 divisions. Sadly a number of players then moved away and the following season 2014/15 was our toughest ever, and most disappointing. However squash, like most sports, is cyclical and in 2019 / 20, we will once again have 2 teams in the Winter season – Divisions 1 and 5.
Winter 2018 / 19 – This was our third season with just one team and our second season in Division 1, following promotion. We won 7 and lost 7 matches, finishing 4th of 8 teams so it was a satisfying season overall and look forward to another season in Division 1 in 2019 / 20.
Summer 2019 – Playing in Division 2, following relegation the previous Summer, it was a very tight league, with 3 teams winning 6 matches and 3 teams winning 4. Fortunately, despite losing our last match, we secured enough points to win the league, finishing with the same number as Maidenhead, but having conceded fewer games.
Hart Squash is very proud of the success we have achieved over the years, representing a strong, friendly and social club. We still have a strong core of players, but always welcome new team players. Please contact Adrian Pepler (details on the ‘Club Contacts’ page)
We also run a team in the Berkshire Veterans League (players over 45) during the Winter season (See Berkshire Vets page). Again new players with some previous team experience would be most welcome to bolster our aging squads!!
New players always welcome!
