Team Profile
Hart Squash First Team
The Players
Dan Long: Played for Hart for 2 seasons 2002 to 2004 before moving to Wellington to play at a higher level. Has regularly played Premier League in the Berkshire Leagues and now rejoins us to play at 1 for this inaugural season in the Premier Division.
Robbi Halldorsson: One of Iceland’s top players who is in England to study and joined Hart while he was staying locally. Played at one for us during the Summer.
Chris Locks: Joined Hart from Frogmore for the 2006 Winter Season, and since then has usually played at one. Obviously the most demanding of positions, but has a 75% win rate in 66 matches.
Ashley Stanton. Middle of 3 sons who are all squash addicts, – and very good. Since the family moved to Hart Squash in Summer 2007, Ash has gradually improved, but will be going to Uni in 2009 and his participation in the team will be limited.
Stefan Stanton. Eldest of the brothers, but whose appearances for Hart have been limited so far as he has been at Uni. He has of course been a regular in the Uni team and Hart Squash is now looking forward to his return to replace is brother in 2009.
Gareth Sutton. Has been playing regularly for Reigate Squash Club in the Surrey Cup but since he has moved to the area, he has joined Hart, with this years competition being his first representative appearances.
Rob Barker. Joined Hart for the 2004 Winter season having had a period away from the game. Not as fit as he would have liked, he initially played some third and second team squash and missed the Summer 2007 season through injury. Since the start of the 2007/8 season he has been a regular and reliable part of the first team.
Ian Smith. Played occasionally for Hart over many years until Summer 2007 when he became a regular member of the first team. Since then he has been our most consistent player, playing brilliant squash & his form was a big factor in the teams recent promotions.
